Technician III

As an Electrical Test Technician III, you will support our Battery Products team, specifically focusing on advanced battery technologies and energy storage systems. Your role will be to set up, calibrate, and operate specialized electrical battery test equipment. You will interpret battery performance data, analyze test results, draft detailed technical reports, and provide recommendations to engineering teams.

You will do this by:

• Performing a variety of non-routine assignments of moderate complexity, including battery module and pack electrical testing using specialized measurement devices and battery test equipment.

• Fabricating prototype battery assemblies, wire harnesses, and test fixtures for product testing.

• Documenting all aspects of battery tests, including testing objectives, procedures, performance data, safety observations, conclusions, and recommendations.

• Compiling, computing, and analyzing battery performance data (voltage, capacity, thermal behavior, cycle life); preparing comprehensive engineering reports.

• Analyzing problems and recommending solutions; expediting prototype parts or accessories

• Developing, preparing, and making recommendations for electrical schematics, test setups, battery test procedures, and specifications.

• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

• Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent education and experience

• 3–5 years of experience with electrical testing, a focus on lithium-ion battery technology or energy storage systems is preferred

• Ability to set up, calibrate, and operate specialized battery test equipment, cyclers, and electrical measurement instruments.

• Solid understanding of lithium-ion cell chemistry, battery management systems (BMS), and energy storage technologies.

• Demonstrated ability to learn complex technical areas.

• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to interpret data and create technical documents.

• Fluent in primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location as well as the ability to read English.
