Strategic Sourcing Analyst

Position Description

Executes the uninterrupted supply of component parts in support of manufacturing activity. Supports internal activity and processes related to acquisition and supply of component materials to manufacturing. Identify and implement potential cost saving ideas via market testing, streamlining supply and/or engineering/design change.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Acts as a liaison between multiple departments and personnel to identify and implement cost saving ideas and facilities the execution of company’s commodity strategy. 

  2. Perform different analyses including but not limited to spend analytics, segmentation analysis and/or Linear Performance pPricing (LPP) analysis.

  3. Manages relationships with key suppliers and internal functions and proactively communicates demand schedules to suppliers

  4. Initiate and manage RFx projects via different communication channels such as e-sourcing platform

  5. Creates supplier specific strategies and improvement initiatives while enlisting the work of other departments; maintains supplier’s requisite programs to manage unanticipated demand spikes as needed; creates and manages lead-time reduction programs with key suppliers

  6. Analyzes broad purchasing practices, evaluates quotes and performs cost/price and value analysis to select, recommend or develop alternative suppliers

  7. Maintains necessary records of purchase, price, stock and consumption, supplier/vendor, specifications and catalog files

  8. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of strategic sourcing and supply strategies, materials requirements planning and other replenishment planning techniques

  • Proficient in Excel and has a good understanding of database

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment and to build business relationships

  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and component applications, statistical process controls and other quality management techniques

  • Knowledge of basic Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) principles

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

Three years of experience in purchasing or related field required
