Position Description

 

The Quality Engineer Associate will work in a support function, performing quality assurance assignments and new product development projects using quality
engineering techniques such as root cause analysis, capability studies and maintaining quality management systems standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs simple quality assurance assignments and projects using quality engineering techniques such as root cause analysis; participates in new models development process; performs Quality Management System documentation activities.
  • Perform statistical data analysis.
  • Perform PPAP and MPAP qualifications.
  • Coordinates product/process capability studies
  • Develops product/process procedures including development of performance metrics
  • Performs statistical analysis used in problem solving, quality improvement projects & Six Sigma teams
  • Performs layouts, reads and understands geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Investigates customer complaints, develops corrective action plans and verifies effectiveness
  • Serves as a liaison between supplier and Briggs & Stratton in quality activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse groups of internal and external customers
  • Ability to prepare and present technical information
  • Technical knowledge of quality and manufacturing processes including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), layout and gaging; machining methods and assembly processes; statistical process control (SPC) and statistical techniques as well as knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools including control plans and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Time management, prioritization, organizational and planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individually or in a team environment, along with flexibility to ensure team coverage of all quality-related activities
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related field

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of related internship experience

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 25%
