Position Description

Completes simple quality engineering assignments.   Performs statistical data analysis to provide information to meet quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs simple quality assurance assignments and projects using quality engineering techniques such as root cause analysis; participates in new models development process; performs Quality Management System documentation activities
  2. Coordinates product/process capability studies
  3. Develops product/process procedures including development of performance metrics
  4. Performs statistical analysis used in problem solving, quality improvement projects & Six Sigma teams
  5. Performs layouts, reads and understands geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  6. Investigates customer complaints, develops corrective action plans and verifies effectiveness
  7. Serves as a liaison between supplier and Briggs & Stratton in quality activities
  8. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse groups of internal and external customers
  • Ability to prepare and present technical information
  • Technical knowledge of quality and manufacturing processes including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), layout and gaging; machining methods and assembly processes; statistical process control (SPC) and statistical techniques as well as knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools including control plans and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Time management, prioritization, organizational and planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individually or in a team environment, along with flexibility to ensure team coverage of all quality-related activities
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related field

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of related internship experience

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 25%
