Position Description

This role reports to the Product Manager in the B&S Home Maintenance Business Unit and is located in Milwaukee, WI. In this role you will develop and lead cross-functional teams through business activities for the assigned consumer product platform of Portable Generators. You will assist in the development of product strategy and roadmaps for new and existing products sold globally, with full accountability to driving completion of new product development activities from concept to launch on-time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist with the product line plan development and maintain current line plan for communication to internal stakeholders
  2. Forms and leads technical product development teams to complete multiple and/or complex new product offering, product change, and cost reduction programs
  3. Adheres to the new product development process
  4. Develops and manages capital and expense budgets
  5. Develops and monitors project schedules (gnatt charts)
  6. Communicates with internal and external customers regarding program status
  7. Evaluates current processes and systems for cost reduction and improvements that align with business and sourcing strategies
  8. Prepares and presents information and presentations for management project review meetings
  9. Maintain an ongoing and thorough knowledge of competitive products, product features and specs, and competitive marketing activities
  10. Performs other duties assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Ability to prepare and present complex technical information
  • Business case creation, review, approval, and presentation with a working understanding of financial principles including Economic Value Add and Return On Investment concepts
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and negotiate effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to form, work with and lead a team of diverse individuals in a variety of fields including engineering, marketing, sourcing, and compliance.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in a formal gated new product development (NPD) process
  • Attention to detail, consistent follow through
  • Great organization and time management skills
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location, Mandarin-Chinese speaking a plus

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of related experience

Physical & Environmental Requirements

May require travel of a planned or urgent nature, both international and domestic
