Position Description

As a Product Manager, your role will be to develop and execute the product management strategy for electric motors, motors controllers, controls, harnesses, and controls within our Electrification business.  You will develop and execute a rolling three year product plan and portfolio strategy including new product introductions, product lifecycle management and profitability.  You will define product and technology roadmaps by evaluating and analyzing key customer needs, market trends and competitive intelligence.  You will also manage technical communication and coordination between all business functions.

You will do this by:

  • Executing and managing product line strategy, as well as the justification and prioritization of new product development initiatives for assigned products

  • Managing product development programs within the New Product Development (NPD) Process

  • Collaborating to develop 3 year product plans and update technology roadmaps for innovation planning 5+ years out

  • Managing capital budgets and driving resource planning and allocation decisions based on product line priorities

  • Coordinating with marketing to define the Voice of Customer (VoC) and go-to-market strategy for new products or product changes

  • Collaborating with Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance to ensure that project objectives and deliverables meet VOC and market needs and hit financial and sales targets.

  • Providing product knowledge for sales calls, sales literature/documentation and trade shows

  • Developing and delivering product and business strategy presentations

  • Maintaining and reporting out on product line metrics

  • Leading and participating in cost reduction and profit improvement efforts

  • Performing full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget

  • Performing other duties as assigned

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

 

Required Experience:

  • A degree in Engineering, with specific experience in bringing electrified products to market or related electrical experience in vehicle integration or electrical components.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product management, new product development, manufacturing, or marketing.

 

Travel Requirements

  • Travel with this position will be required occasionally.  Focus will be on trade shows, vendor visits and visits to key customers and end users.

  • Three years experience with global markets preferred

  • Technical  experience with electric motor control is a plus.

  • Technical experience with electronics manufacturing and testing is a plus.
