Job Description
Be a part of the fastest growing segment of our business leading a transformation to Electrification, helping create easy adoption for lithium-ion batteries. Plans, executes, and organizes detailed design development as part of major projects of significant scope for the Electrification group.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products with limited guidance.
- Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to concept analysis, business case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps; recommends methods of manufacture during the design of new products and design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
- Partners with project management, business units, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, etc.
- Applies advanced engineering analysis techniques to develop designs, evaluate product failures, etc.
- Specifies and develops complex tests using advanced techniques to qualify new product designs. Compiles and analyzes test results; formulates conclusions and makes appropriate recommendations
- Develops engineering test standards where applicable
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of new product development process and procedures
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, procedures and other internal engineering standards and systems
- Strong engineering knowledge of DFMEA, GD&T, Tolerance stack ups, FEA,
- Experience in Design for assembly
- Experience in Design for Manufacturing with a working knowledge of typical manufacturing processes and associated design requirements.
- Working knowledge of company and competitor’s products and technical abilities of suppliers
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Experience Requirements
- Five years of professional engineering experience
