Job Description

Be a part of the fastest growing segment of our business leading a transformation to Electrification, helping create easy adoption for lithium-ion batteries.  Plans, executes, and organizes detailed design development as part of major projects of significant scope for the Electrification group.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop new products with limited guidance.
  2. Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to concept analysis, business case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps; recommends methods of manufacture during the design of new products and design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
  3. Partners with project management, business units, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, etc.
  4. Applies advanced engineering analysis techniques to develop designs, evaluate product failures, etc.
  5. Specifies and develops complex tests using advanced techniques to qualify new product designs. Compiles and analyzes test results; formulates conclusions and makes appropriate recommendations
  6. Develops engineering test standards where applicable
  7. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of new product development process and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, procedures and other internal engineering standards and systems
  • Strong engineering knowledge of DFMEA, GD&T, Tolerance stack ups, FEA,
  • Experience in Design for assembly
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturing with a working knowledge of typical manufacturing processes and associated design requirements.
  • Working knowledge of company and competitor’s products and technical abilities of suppliers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related field

Experience Requirements

  • Five years of professional engineering experience

Physical & Environmental Requirements

May require travel of a scheduled or urgent nature to review applications, discuss problems, visit suppliers / customers, trade shows, etc.
