Position Description

Performs engineering simulation tasks under moderate guidance that are varied and moderately difficult, which require troubleshooting and interpretation of data, development of new simulaiton methods or procedures and are used for a variety of situations.  Assists in the development, execution, and organization of detailed design development as part of major projects with a moderate scope.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Conducts and/or specifies moderately complex virtual tests using simulation techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems; prepares technical reports based on results
  2. Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to concept analysis, business case, product development, pre-production and post-launch steps; recommends methods of manufacture during the design of new products and design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
  3. Modifies simulation techniques when necessary to solve more complex problems
  4. Evaluates product failures using structured engineering techniques
  5. Compiles and analyzes simulation results; formulates conclusions and makes appropriate recommendations
  6. Documentation of simulation techniques and writing of engineering simulation standards.
  7. Recommends improvements and/or modifications for sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters
  8. Contributes to the development of engineering test standards where applicable
  9. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures and other internal engineering standards and systems
  • Knowledge of IC engines and other power generation systems in terms of fluid flow and heat transport methods.
  • Knowledge of engineering systems (e.g. Creo, Ansys, Fluent, GT-Suite, and PLM tools)
  • Knowledge of company and competitor’s products and technical abilities of suppliers
  • Well-developed understanding of company processes and procedures including, but not limited to new product development process
  • Strong interpersonal skills  
  • Well-developed written communication skills necessary for technical report and standards writing
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Experience Requirements
  • Three years of professional engineering experience
Physical & Environmental Requirements
May require travel of a scheduled or urgent nature to review applications, discuss problems, visit suppliers / customers, trade shows, etc.
