Briggs and Stratton's Turf & Consumer Products team is looking for a Customer & Market Insights Manager.  This individual will be responsible for gathering and sharing insights that can be used to inform and support decision making.  Reliable customer and market insights are critical enablers for the growth of the business.


This person will also serve as the CRM administrator within the Turf & Consumer Products team, responsible for understanding the capabilities of the CRM, managing data within the CRM, and constructing the roadmap for CRM enhancements.

Position Description

Develops, sources, analyzes, and communicates customer and market insights for the Turf & Consumer business within Briggs & Stratton.  Works closely with the business to identify research needs, execute projects, and communicate findings.  Manages external research resources and develops in-house analysis capabilities.  Manages data within the CRM and constructs roadmaps to enhancements.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Become a subject matter expert in our customer and market data and how to best leverage its value, including leading cross-channel analyses from multiple data platforms.

  2. Establish & refine data-driven customer segments to optimize messaging around behavioral, demographic & predictive audience segmentation. Support cross-functional stakeholders by leading measurement strategy, KPI selection, and methodology.

  3. Proactively identify cross functional strategic opportunities & provide recommendations based on ad hoc data mining of disparate customer data sources.

  4. Become a thought leader in how to measure our customers' interactions with our brand and how these interactions predict behavior.

  5. Perform ad hoc analysis and establish reporting to support decision-making across the Turf & Consumer Products group.

  6. Partner with Sales, Marketing and IT to help manage and monitor controls for CRM data cleanliness.

  7. Perform regular gap analyses on our customer data ecosystem, including implementing best practices and programs to improve data collection. 

  8. Perform other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Solid business acumen
  • Proficiency in business intelligence reporting / data visualization tools (Domo preferred)
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and support new software applications
  • Ability to define solutions and resolve issues
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills to identify and propose technical and non-technical solutions
  • Excellent computer skills particularly presentation and spreadsheet software
  • Strong internal and external communication skills as well as strong presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location


Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Education and experience in Data Analytics. 
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Sales / Marketing
  • Experience working with research methodologies and statistical modeling software
  • Experience conducting market research studies

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Domestic and/or international travel as required up to 10%
