As a Supply Chain Logistics Intern your goal is to support the Logistics team which is responsible for the development and management of a safe, efficient and compliant supply chain distribution network that supports the movement of equipment, materials and finished goods.
The Intern will also support the execution of freight movements to and from our Global Briggs locations or Suppliers, along with the delivery of finished products to our customers and Aftermarket Sales delivering value through an optimal landed cost approach meeting delivery service expectations. Additionally, the Intern will gain experience collaborating with 3PLs, plant operations, and suppliers.
Hours Per Week: 15-20 during school year, 40 during summer
Start Date: Immediate, can continue through summer and next school year
Pay: 16.50 - 18.50 per hour, dependent upon class level
You will do this by:
- Learning to perform logistics tasks around preparation of shipping paperwork documents and instructions associated with exports and imports
- Verifying receipt goods in SAP and other reporting supporting logistics activity in the Briggs and Stratton network
- Assisting with ocean rate auditing and other invoice review
- Supporting the scorecarding of Suppliers for routing performance thru participation in Supplier Onboarding and web-x training
- Supporting the logistics department with data analysis and monthly reporting

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors/Associates degree in specified function (Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field)
- Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous logistics experience

- Good working knowledge of computer software
- A long-term interest in supply chain and logistics
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Possess poise and the ability to interact with people in a professional manner
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving and analysis skills
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
