Inside Sales Representative - Energy Solutions

Our Energy Solutions team is looking for our next Inside Sales Representative. The inside sales representative is a key member of the overall sales team supporting one or more territories. Position Description

Manages a group of small customers via phone contact and supports the outside sales force as needed.  Grows existing customers to meet or exceed monthly sales goals within assigned territory.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Works with existing and potential customers to proactively and reactively sell products through consultative selling
  2. Partners with the outside sales force to increase sales by supporting the outside staff through an established region
  3. Creates and maintains accurate customer database records by entering customer calls, results and order information
  4. Develops long-term repeat customer relationships
  5. Acts as a liaison between the customer and internal departments such as engineering, quality, legal and operations as well as the outside sales force
  6. Develops and maintains current product knowledge; maintains knowledge of market, new products or services, regulations, technical information, competition, warranties, product reliability and other general information of interest to the customer
  7. Supports the sales efforts of sales management while maintaining a positive and professional relationship between the customer and Briggs & Stratton
  8. Works with other functions, coordinates order release for shipment
  9. Interacts closely with support departments regarding dealer credit and order disposition
  10. Perform other duties as assigned

  • Selling techniques which include the ability to negotiate, motivate, and persuade
  • Solid business acumen
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a sales, sales support or a customer service environment
