Position Description

Completes tasks designed to ensure security of IT systems and information assets. Uses historic and real time data to improve Briggs & Stratton IT Security.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Monitors, assesses, mitigates, and communicates events presenting a risk to the environment
  2. Identifies, plans, and implements security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data
  3. Identifies gaps in current tools and/or processes and provides recommendations to mitigate that risk
  4. Provides input to ongoing operational development and execution of the Company’s Security Incident Management processes
  5. Assists in implementing security program initiatives
  6. Uses fact-based analysis to improve IT Security
  7. Monitors service level standards and customer satisfaction scores for IT security support by identifying root cause issues, implementing improvement plans, and collaborating with the functional user community to set expectations, priorities and align the IT services to the expectations
  8. Recommends and helps create communications materials for end users, conducts process improvement workshops, and teaches customers how to use IT products and services to achieve business value
  9. Train and monitor IT Security work of IT operations
  10. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking, and antivirus.
  • Experience working with SIEM technologies a plus.
  • Business process knowledge/skill across multiple Business Functions
  • Demonstrates strong functional application knowledge/skill within multiple applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to build and maintain strong effective working relationship
  • Solid knowledge of IT Security industry, vendors, best practices and standards
  • Well-developed analytic ability and fact-based decision making skills.
  • Experience collaborating working with multiple third party vendors.
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of related IT experience and determining and supporting business requirements
