Position Description
Briggs & Stratton is hiring a Sr. Human Resources Generalist in our Corporate Headquarters, located in Milwaukee, WI. This role will report directly to the VP of HR and provide corporate level support to multiple Human Resources stakeholders in various regions.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary resource for managers and employees related to one or more functional HR areas; develops reports and analyses as required; recommends action within HR and/or to managers and employees; provides proactive resolution of employee concerns and problems with goal of future problem prevention.
- Develops and delivers written communications and presentations to communicate concepts related to one or more functional HR areas for managers and employees; develops and conducts training and presentations.
- Partners with the talent acquisition team on recruitment efforts.
- Coaches employees and leadership in developing goals and objectives and provides coaching on performance management processes and may lead calibrations.
- Work with leadership and the Compensation team to ensure total compensation for the business is competitive in total compensation for employee base. Identify, facilitate, and resolve compensation and benefits issues quickly.
- Develops, documents and makes recommendations for continuous improvement processes within HR. Including procedures or programs to deliver innovative solutions to meet needs.
- Supports outsourced processes, such as, FMLA/LOA and Workers Compensation providing feedback when issues arise along with solutions.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Acts as a mentor or resource to other HR Generalists to include answering questions, coaching, and providing guidance on day-to-day activities.
- Leads HR projects of varying size and scope that may be global and/or span across business units.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
- Some experience in development of principles and practices of human resources functions and/or a specific function within HR
- Very strong organization and time management/project management skills necessary to prioritize and manage multiple, complex projects, potentially with conflicting priorities; ability to react quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate work with diverse groups of employees
- Demonstrated skills in employee relations with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Some experience in leading HR Projects.
- Exhibits sound judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential situations and information.
Education
Experience Requirements
- Minimum five years related professional, progressive experience in human resources setting, manufacturing preferred
