As the Director Sourcing - Indirect your goal is to lead the sourcing of indirect materials and services for the company while establishing a sourcing and supplier segmentation strategy that will achieve a competitive advantage from the supply base in: cost, quality, fulfillment, and innovation.  

 

You will do this by:

  • Developing strategies across indirect spend categories by working with purchasing teams to leverage spend

  • Leading development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to improve sourcing, purchasing and contracting processes

  • Serving as lead negotiator for indirects at the company and identifies, qualifies and selects suppliers

  • Leading cost reduction efforts for indirects to achieve 4-5% YOY improvement in total cost

  • Overseeing key supplier relationships to ensure mutual value and continuous improvement

  • Preparing annual budgets and provides guidance for key expenditures and annual purchase price variance and cost reduction forecasts

  • Interacting regularly with the CFO, Division Presidents and top executives at major suppliers

  • Closely manages and co-leads the capital equipment approval and acquisition process

  • Working closely with internal customers and stakeholders to carefully define scopes of work, specifications and requirements to cost effectively meet company requirements

  • Carefully managing the contracting process ensuring best total value for the company including but not limited to payment terms, warranty, uptime, progress payments, service and support

  • Directing the work of groups of employees (leads through managers and other professionals)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field OR equivalent education and experience

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility

  • At least ten years experience in sourcing, purchasing or supply chain management

  • Strong knowledge of indirect categories for manufacturing, contracting best practices, and expertise in negotiating complex agreements  

  • Previous supervisor or managerial experience

  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems and Word, PowerPoint, Excel  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP experience

  • Knowledge of e-sourcing tools

 

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of Sourcing, Purchasing, Commodity Management, negotiation strategies and techniques, and supplier relationship management

  • Proven leadership, influence and motivational skills

  • Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions; ability to adapt to different cultures and effectively lead teams in locations

  • Execute decisions and actions after consideration of both Company and Business Unit objectives; ability to make confident, fact-based decisions balancing risk

  • Ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines

  • Expertise in delivering change programs to switch suppliers to achieve lower cost, improved service while maintaining supply continuity

  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and delivering presentations to senior executives which include: CEO, CFO and Division Presidents
