Position Description

Leads Global Logistics Function for the company. Direct and manage third party logistics relationships to ensure service level and cost are optimized to meet customer requirements. Develops, tracks and reports to senior management on key performance indicators (KPI’s).

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develops and manages key performance indicators to form the basis for third party provider performance assessments, corrective actions, and assessment of fulfilled contractual obligations
  2. Develops, negotiates and manages all third party contracts and rate agreements for freight, brokerage compliance, as well as audit pay 
  3. Ensures logistics needs of business units are fully met
  4. Understands business growth strategies and  drives continuous improvement projects to minimize transportation expenses
  5. Conducts joint quarterly business review meetings with senior management team members to report on state of the relationship, key performance indicators and critical event plans
  6. Leads  audits  to ensure  freight payment processes are being followed,  Third Party Logistics (3PL) transaction fees are accurate, and corrective actions are timely and effective
  7. Develops and executes plans to optimize logistics, distribution, and warehouse footprint  
  8. Leads Trade Compliance function to ensure compliance with all import, export and trade regulations
  9. Directs the work of groups of employees (leads through managers)
  10. Works closely with finance and business unit leadership to forecast and manage monthly and annual cost budgets
  11. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Ability to forecast and develop budgets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all facets of transportation and logistics international business practices, and U.S./foreign transportation rules/regulations
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain close working relationships with a diverse groups of people
  • Working knowledge of ERP, BI, TMS, and other freight management and visibility patterns
  • High degree of analytical ability and capable of creating and executing major strategic initiatives
  • Expert knowledge of transportation markets and ability to translate into strategies, resources and tools
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location


Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum ten years of experience in logistics, global trade compliance and warehouse management
  • Prior supervisory or management experience
  • Prior experience in leading and managing complex global transportation organizations with a high traffic volume, serving multiple international regions, mass retail, OEM and dealer networks

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 25%
