Position Description

Supports assigned business unit through analysis of cost data to ascertain variances and prepare reports.   Analyzes results and proposes recommendations relative to improving financial reporting for manufacturing operations and corporate performance.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Conducts special studies, analyzes data obtained and provides management with reports related to cost accounting information
  2. Assists in the maintenance of standard cost data to classify labor, material and overhead costs to compute the unit cost of product or service.
  3. Analyzes production costs and prepares standardized reports for use by management in controlling expenditures.
  4. Establishes and maintains good internal controls. Complies with Sarbanes Oxley procedures and supply data timely for audit.
  5. Coordinates best practices approach for reporting of cost accounting data.  
  6. Determines and implements cost accounting methods and procedures in compliance with global accounting policies.
  7. Analyzes actual costs vs. standard costs and prepares reports of variances.
  8. Leads the annual standard costing process including compiling cost data for preparation of operating budgets.
  9. Prepares estimates of new or proposed product costs.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

  • Comprehensive experience with financial analysis and/or cost accounting
  • Strong computer literacy, especially experience with financial software systems
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a diverse group of people
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of public accounting experience or three years of related experience
