Position Description
Develops and leads the strategy of the Lean initiative at Briggs & Stratton. Drives the Lean roadmap improvements and oversees the build of the standard work and training methods to sustain and leverage the Lean journey. Develops metrics, tools and training for Lean techniques to create a culture of continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities

Drives a culture of Lean throughout the organization and champions the implementation of Lean philosophy.

Develops and oversees the plan execution to deliver Lean assessment score improvements compatible with business objectives.

Establishes and optimizes proper governance to ensure speed, consistency and control over processes

Develops and executes Lean events to deliver identified cost improvements compatible with business objectives.

Trains and develops employees in Lean expertise and relevant tools and skills; Conducts Lean training and facilitates Lean events and improvement teams.

Manages Lean projects throughout the organization by coaching and mentoring Lean leaders to higher levels of success through better project selection, project scoping, team selection, project implementation and monitoring.

Drives the evaluation of continuous improvements activities throughout the organization

Develops a dashboard for performance metrics related to Lean implementations and their projected paybacks.

Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management and department budget.

Job Skills Requirements

Thorough knowledge of Lean with an emphasis on Lean in the office environment

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees

Demonstrated strong leadership skills which champion accountability, maximize team and individual strengths, seek and implement change and align with critical business objectives

Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills

Education
Experience Requirements

Minimum of seven years of professional experience in project management
