Group Lead Finishing

Position Description

Oversees the finishing of the assigned product lines and components and delegates the daily work assignments. May perform production work as needed.

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversees the finishing of products and components, and maintains finishing systems ensuring the highest level of quality at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards.
2. Organizes space, equipment and personnel work assignments for successful execution of the production schedule, making adjustments as necessary.
3. Resolves routine department  and personnel problems (i.e. attendance, performance & safety) while reporting non-routine problems to supervisor.
4. Orders chemicals and supplies, works with outside vendors to resolve issues.
5. Monitors, tests, and adjusts chemical levels and is responsible for color changes.
6. Performs data entry, defect tracking and and inventory tracking.
7. Trains employees; assigns and directs work; provides feedback to supervisor regarding employee work performance; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use hand tools, etc
• Ability to understand LEAN principles to perform job duties for continuous improvement
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Experience Requirements

• 2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment
