Engineering Assistant

Position Description

Assists engineering staff with a variety of engineering support tasks including maintenance of material data, drawing data, Bill of Materials (BOM’s) or other engineering related items.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs a variety of tasks to support engineering applications and processes
2. Performs specific and limited portions of more complex assignments
3. Enters Drawing Management and Bill of Material (BOM) maintenance information for production, pre-production, service and sample parts
4. Loads Bill of Material (BOM) including parent and parent-component “Note” records
5. Maintains Bill of Material Note and Part Description Tables, Material Code Book; distributes new or updated information
6. Assists internal customers
7. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

• Fundamental knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of engineering
• Basic knowledge of engineering related computer systems/capabilities
• Basic knowledge of small engines and/or outdoor power equipment
• Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Experience Requirements

• One year of professional engineering assistant experience preferred
