Procurement Engineer

Position Description

Coordinates sourcing and purchasing efforts in order for divisional objectives to be achieved. Works closely with team to identify and implement the sourcing strategy within sourcing and purchasing teams.

Job Responsibilities

1. Establishes new supplier relationships that meet production purchasing and sourcing strategies
2. Maintains the early supplier involvement process
3. Processes request for quote (RFQ), analyzes cost model, provides cost comparison and recommendations
4. Builds a service-oriented process with suppliers and customers
5. Develops a procurement strategy for new product development projects  and procures 1st article and prototype components
6. Shortens product introduction cycle through managed involvement of selected suppliers
7. Drives product development timelines to ensure calendar deliverables and dates are met
8. Ensures the demand planning for products meet volume forecasts
9. Maintains purchasing policy and procedure compliance
10. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

• Understanding of key product development processes within a large manufacturing organization
• Ability to effectively work with all levels of management
• High level understanding of low and high volume, continuous process manufacturing?
• Technical knowledge of products and components
• Ability to effectively prioritize and multitask
• Thorough understanding of and ability to facilitate the logistics pipeline
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of Project Management techniques and systems
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in product engineering, sourcing, procurement or supply chain
