Accountant

Position Description

Supports assigned business unit through performance of accounting functions. Reviews and approves on-line requisitions, investigative analysis on variances related to operating budgets, labor efficiency, labor reporting and warranty charges. Prepares analysis, reports and journal entries related to the monthly closing cycle and assists in the preparation of annual expense budgets and financial analysis projects.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs month-end closing includes calculating accrual/reserve balances and discussing calculations with management to arrive at a decision; reconciling and analyzing general ledger account data for accuracy and adjusting accounts if necessary.
2. Prepares daily/weekly/monthly and quarterly financial reports for management and outside parties.
3. Develops monthly forecasts and annual budget.
4. Assists in the preparation of annual expense budgets and financial analysis projects.
5. Provides audit information to outside auditors Completes account reconciliations
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and other related accounting software such as SAP
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a diverse group of people
• Familiarity with financial analysis and/or cost accounting
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of one year of public accounting experience or two years of relevant industry experience
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
