Position Description

Executes the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process in the business unit to optimize inventory and cost.   Identifies potential capacity constraints and partners to identify solutions. Executes training to extend the IBP process across international regions and new acquisitions.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Leads the Briggs & Stratton supply chain and operations planning processes to include Level II quarterly IBP planning and Level III monthly Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP).

  2. Leads the execution of quarterly, monthly and daily planning meetings or three IBP planning tiers (IBP, SIOP, and Daily Sales & Operations Execution (SOE).

  3. Develops and maintains metrics, trend charts and other reports for the monthly planning reviews Optimizes order lead time and minimizes freight expense

  4. Develops and implements plans to   minimize excess & obsolete (E & O) inventory. Liaison with Sales to create programs to sell or liquidate E & O 

  5. Liaison with the Process & Technology Center of Excellence (COE) to drive continuous improvement of the planning system

  6. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget

  7. Performs other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines Proven ability to make fact-based decisions with a sense of calculated risk-taking Demonstrated success with solving problems strategically and ability to provide alternate courses of action Expert in SAP Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), Logility or similar planning software, Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

  • Fluent in English and the primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • At least 10 years progressive experience in planning or master production scheduling with experience in: sourcing, purchasing, and logistics

  • At least 5 years of leadership/management experience in a consumer goods or manufacturing company, preferred

  • Working knowledge and experience with resource planning systems (such as: Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics)

  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office

  • Working knowledge of: Low Cost Country Sourcing, International Logistics, Contract Manufacturing, Total Landed Cost and Total Cost of Ownership, INCOTERMS and trade compliance, preferred

  • Ability to travel domestically, as needed, on a minimal basis.
