Position Description

Identifies, recommends and implements projects focused on operational excellence. Manages policies and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction and improved delivery performance for the organization.  Identifies, develops, and implements cost effective logistics services while meeting Corporate values and objectives. Designs and develops models and analytical reports to evaluate and track current state and simulate future state operations to identify improvement opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Plans and executes complex logistics data analysis using mathematical, statistical and/or Operations Research techniques; establishes, retrieves and combines current and historical data
  2. Manages and create reports for communicating with internal and external customers connected with shipment activities
  3. Leads continuous improvement initiatives to operationalize policies and procedures that improve logistics efficiency while enhancing internal and external customer satisfaction
  4. Identifies opportunities to reduce logistics, freight, etc. cost each year
  5. Establishes strong working relationships with key internal and external customers/partners; maintains communication with key customers effectively and professionally
  6. Works closely with Logistics and Management staff to optimize efficiency, productivity, and workflow processes associated with the day-to-day transportation operations
  7. Develops new processes, validates existing processes, maintains process documentation and version control and operations improvement
  8. Executes day-to-day logistics activities and prepares team and partners for  peak seasons requirements
  9. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
  10. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Well-developed knowledge of transportation logistics principles
  • Working computer knowledge, particularly ge ERP systems like SAP and office productivity tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate and interact with diverse groups of people at all levels within and outside of organization
  • Ability to organize and plan work and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Experience with data mining, business intelligence tools, financial planning and analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage complex situations promptly and professionally
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to train others in all aspects of logistics
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years in a logistics environment; industrial engineering, operations management, process improvement or similar in warehouse or transportation environment
