Position Description
Performs liaison activities in the manufacturing areas of production to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing schedules and commitments. Responsible for order entry of requested material and maintaining inventory levels.
Job Responsibilities
- Establishes and manages daily and weekly production scheduling for the site and adjusts schedules accordingly to deliver site goals and objectives
- Creates and releases production orders and partners closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics in the prioritization and expediting of the orders
- Ensures appropriate and timely communication to operations and management when schedule adjustments and delays happen to align with priorities
- Investigates scope of more complex requests and consults with appropriate personnel to determine scheduling status and/or feasibility
- Coordinates with others to facilitate the timely completion of the scheduled request
- Prepares and maintains supporting documents related to the planned request as required
- Places orders for materials from area requests in order to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Expedites processing of engine parts and components or DC materials by releasing and processing customer orders
- Maintains records and related documents on processing and production and/or distribution center in support of division goals and programs
- Contacts customers and /or vendors to verify shipment of goods as promised
- Maintains and updates Material Requirement Planning/Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP/ERP) system
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with diverse groups of people
- Self-directed, self-disciplined with excellent organizational skills and the ability to exercise judgment while handling multiple priorities
- Expanded knowledge of manufacturing procedures (MRP, AVS, Master Scheduling, Bills of Material), material identities, part relationships, production systems and related computer software
- Solid knowledge of inventory management programs and systems
- Ability to read and/or interpret blueprints and/or engineering drawings
- Ability to apply mathematical skills in order to complete and maintain records and reports
- Strong analytical skills and basic knowledge of Lean Methodologies
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and or Google sheets
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three years experience in planning/materials/logistics management or related field
