Briggs & Stratton / Billy Goat, located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, is a leading and innovative manufacturer of outdoor power equipment. We specialize in the design and manufacture of machines in three product groups: Debris Management (vacuums, blowers, and debris loaders), Lawn Renovation, and Brush Cutters. We are currently accepting applications for a Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern to support our Product Engineering department.

Work Hours: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.
This is a 10 week assignment beginning June 1, 2021 through August 6, 2021.  Rate of pay is $16.00.  Application deadline is April 2, 2021.

 

Position Description

Performs product engineering support tasks under general supervision of Manager, Engineering. 

Job Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of engineering assignments to support new product development and product improvement efforts.
• Applies computer-aided engineering analysis techniques as it relates to product development.
• Evaluates product failures using standard engineering techniques.
• Compiles and analyzes test results, formulates conclusions, and makes appropriate recommendations.
• Provides data to support project management, business units, manufacturing, quality, supply chain. etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education

Associates Degree
Bachelor's Degree in Related field

Experience Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors/Associates  degree in specified function
  • Must complete the sophomore year in the major program of study prior to beginning a co-op
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0
  • This is an entry-level position therefore previous experience is not required
  • Hands-on work experience in specified function is helpful
