Position Description
Performs engineering tasks under moderate guidance that are varied and moderately difficult, which require troubleshooting and interpretation of data, development of new test methods or procedures and are used for a variety of situations. Assists in the development, execution, and organization of detailed design development as part of major projects with a moderate scope.
Job Responsibilities
- This role will work in new product development under a lead engineer
- Responsible to design sub-systems for new products and offer several design solutions for review and selection by their supervisor
- Assist in analysis by creating costed Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Perform static FEA modeling, and perform CFD
- Assist in assembly of prototypes and testing of new designs
- Conducts and/or specifies moderately complex tests using techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems; prepares technical reports based on results
- Applies advanced computer-aided engineering analysis techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems
- Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to concept analysis, business case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps; recommends methods of manufacture during the design of new products and design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
- Modifies analysis techniques when necessary to solve more complex problems
- Evaluates product failures using standard engineering techniques
- Compiles and analyzes test results; formulates conclusions and makes appropriate recommendations
- Provides liaison support between the engineering department and manufacturing
- Supports supplier selection and interaction
- Recommends improvements and/or modifications for a sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters
- Contributes to the development of engineering test standards where applicable
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures and other internal engineering standards and systems
- Knowledge of engineering systems
- Knowledge of company and competitor’s products and technical abilities of suppliers
- Well-developed understanding of company processes and procedures including, but not limited to new product development process
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Well-developed written communication skills necessary for technical report writing
- Experience in the use of SolidWorks for CAD is a plus, but not required
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Experience Requirements
- Three years of professional engineering experience
