As a Supplier Quality Engineer your role will be to work closely with our suppliers and purchasing group to focus on our drive to be the highest delivered quality. You will be responsible for strategic quality systems, investigating, analyzing and correcting problems in quality, production and control at a supplier location as well as performing audits and implementing new strategies.
You will do this by:

Supervising, supporting and developing the Supplier Quality Team and assisting with day to day production issues.

Implementing Quality systems for production and supply base.

Advising and supporting Quality Technicians on day to day production issues and process controls.
-
Collecting and evaluating supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
-
Working with suppliers directly to create corrective action plans to address process failures.
-
Monitoring supplier performance through indicators like PPM, repeat issues, Warranty, etc. in order to develop comprehensive strategies and implement actions that effectively improve poor performing suppliers.

Reviewing and disposition of supplier PPAPs

Communicating and instructing suppliers on the use of corrective action processes and quality tools and techniques.

Reviewing supplier manufacturing processes, collaborating with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.

Regularly communicating with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain team members internally to identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement.

Collecting, maintaining, and reporting on supplier performance metrics.

Participating in Engineering Change meetings to ensure awareness to design changes, implementing engineering changes in accordance with the PPAP process.

Supporting visits to suppliers and assisting the supply chain group in conducting supplier audits as needed.

Preparing, updating and coordinating incoming inspection plans and receiving inspection activities..

Creating, issuing and completing Supplier Corrective Action requests and work with suppliers on RMA returns of defective materials..

Supporting Engineering Change implementations with assigned suppliers.

Providing support and analysis on special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Experience working in a machining and assembly environment

Strong skills and working knowledge of SAP (ERP) software
