Position Description

Manages supply and capacity improvement initiatives for Standby business by focusing on supplier engagement. Responsible for day-to-day activities within the Standby business including owning escalated issues and driving long term capacity improvement to meet the needs of the business.  Leads complex projects of a strategic nature and drives continuous improvement of fulfillment, supply chain, and inventory management processes. Ensures effective representation on commodity, new product development teams and other significant corporate efforts.  Leads through influence and collaboration of key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for escalations and regularly influences, negotiates, and persuades at various levels both internally and externally

  2. Investigate, pareto and drive root cause corrections of supply disruptions and work collaboratively to implement process improvements

  3. Conduct a supplier capacity analysis to meet near and long range production schedules.  Implement actions where gaps exist

  4. Monitors forecasts and demand to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities

  5. Defines performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors

  6. Meets with suppliers and manufacturing plants to discuss performance metrics, provide performance feedback, or discuss production forecasts or changes

  7. Develop a funnel of cost reduction ideas and work collaboratively with sourcing, product management and engineering to initiative projects

  8. Manages activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, vendor managed inventory, warehousing, or receiving

  9. Participates in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, cost savings or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow

  10. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of manufacturing, distribution, inventory, and quality procedures and management programs and systems (SAP in particular)

  • Proficient computer skills including familiarity with enterprise resource planning and business intelligence/analytics systems, Google, and MS Office applications

  • Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including demand planning, forecasting and supply planning and expediting.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of product change management processes within operations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporation

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisions

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Experience Requirements

Minimum of five years of experience in a continuous supply chain, or related function, within high volume manufacturing environment

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 30%

Certifications Preferred

APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
Six Sigma Black-Belt
