Manager Commodity - Raw Materials

Position Description

Provides direction throughout the sourcing process to ensure value is added. Works with divisional purchasing, production control and logistic to improve international sourcing, purchasing and logistic efficiencies Leads and implements sourcing strategy within sourcing and purchasing teams.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Works with divisional purchasing to coordinate and leverage the total spend through the corporate demand of commodity specific requirements
  2. Interfaces with supplier base review production facility and audits entire supply chains to ensure compliance
  3. Manages supplier relationship and improves sourcing processes and procedures
  4. Initiates International Supplier Quality Development (on-site surveys, ISIRs, etc.)
  5. Provides guidance, direction for sourcing and purchasing team
  6. Provides overview for low cost providers / region, risk and trend analysis
  7. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
  8. Performs other duties as assigned

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects is required
  • Attention to details and ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing, negotiation techniques, quality and supplier relationship development
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively work with a diverse group of people in a team environment
  • Knowledge of international supply chain management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate and interact with diverse groups of people at all levels within and outside of organization
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in sourcing in a manufacturing environment

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 35%
