Trade Compliance Analyst

Position Description

Support Trade Compliance Management by ensuring import and export compliance with the U.S. Government rules and regulations along with Company policies and procedures.  Manage by exception shipments and requests for timely customs clearance, meeting daily KPI’s.  Maintains appropriate records, prepares reports and coordinates customs activities with internal and external customers.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provides frontline support for daily customs compliance operations, resolves issues and ensures on time customs clearance of products
  2. Participates in developing and implementing customs compliance solutions with other departments
  3. Identifies and analyzes root causes of issues and works with logistics partners to  develop solutions and performance improvement measures
  4. Cultivates relationships with other departments to understand their customers needs and propose ideas to exceed expectations
  5. Documents and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed
  6. Maintains department customs compliance data and records, runs monthly report, identifies trends and opportunities for cost savings
  7. Performs other duties as assigned
     

Job Skills Requirements

  • Knowledge of Core Trade Compliance: Harmonized Tariff Schedule Classification, Country of Origin and Marking, Valuation, Special Programs, Audits
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analytics skills including vlookups, pivot tables and various formulas
  • Well-developed knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP
  • Well-developed ability to meet deadlines and organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented
  • Solid knowledge of the principles of international trade and transportation logistics
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate and interact with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
     

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Three years experience in trade compliance, logistics, transportation or supply chain or related field
