Position Description

This is a unique position for a designer that includes service part creation and maintenance, technical writing, and leveraging CAD models for illustrations, renderings, and animations, working in the role of Customer Experience. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, writes and edits operators’ manuals, repair manuals, and related technical publications with minimal supervision
  • Creates and maintains service parts lists and BOM’s for a variety of outdoor power equipment products
  • Assembles 3D CAD models for use in rendering and animation programs
  • Integrates engineering drawings, text, parts lists and other documents into illustrations and drawings
  • Facilitates design updates and part supersession for service parts
  • Generates Bills of Material (BOM) for literature packs and associates to product BOMs.
  • Writes Change Notices (CN) to release new or revised documents.
  • Creates and maintains Product-to-Manual Relationships to ensure BOMs are correctly structured and that customers can easily find product manuals via website searches.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Solid understanding of bill of materials, engineering change system, and engineering drawings
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of software packages to perform word processing and page layout duties, and knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning and Product Lifecycle Management systems
  • Familiarity with product documentation standards and specifications
  • Basic understanding of standards and applications in an engineering environment
  • Familiar with most manufacturing processes and assembly techniques
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location


Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum three years of Mechanical Design experience (May include co-op/internship experience)
