Marketing & Product Manager

Position Description

Develops and executes the product management strategy for a product category in existing and new regions.  Develops and executes a rolling three year product plan and portfolio strategy including new product introductions, product lifecycle management and profitability.  Defines product and technology roadmaps by evaluating and analyzing key customer needs, market trends and competitive intelligence.  Manages technical communication and coordination between all business functions.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Evaluates channel marketing needs, recommendations to leadership for strategic planning

  2. Metrics reporting and assist with achieving annual sell-thru objectives for assigned channel of distribution

  3. Works with Sales & Field Training leadership to incorporate education and training materials in marketing programs

  4. Maintains and updates market intelligence databases on pricing, market shares, volumes, and competitive landscape.  

  5. Executes and manages product lines strategy, as well as new product development initiatives for assigned products

  6. Collaborate as key member to the product development programs within the New Product Development (NPD) Process

  7. Collaborates to develop 3 year product plans, update technology roadmaps for innovation planning 5+ years out

  8. Coordinates with Sales & Marketing leadership to define the go-to-market strategy

  9. Development of presentation materials, literature/documentation and trade events

  10. Develops and delivers product and business strategy presentations

  11. Participates in NPD process updates, cost reduction and profit improvement efforts

  12. May perform full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not limited to:  interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget

  13. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Strong  knowledge of Business-Consumer and Business-to-Business marketing practices

  • Proven ability to successfully manage several assignments simultaneously an to coordinate with multiple departments at all levels of the organization

  • Must be resourceful and team focused; have strong problem solving skills, a strong initiative of efficiency and quality and be a proven self-starter able to work independently

  • Results focus with ability to translate stakeholder needs and priorities into actionable plans

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technical information to diverse groups of people; excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to collaborate and influence within and outside the organization

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial principles

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum five years of experience in product management, new product development, manufacturing, marketing or related field.
  • Three years experience with global markets preferred
Physical & Environmental Requirements
May require travel of a planned or urgent nature, both international and domestic
