Product Technical Service Specialist - Battery Storage (Remote)

Our SimpliPhi Team is looking for our next Technical Service Specialist! This position is an opportunity to work with experts in a growing sector and make a difference by supporting access to renewable power and self sustainability. In the position you'll talk to installers - learning from those working with our products in the field and supporting passionate people; you'll also work with customers together to problem solve their issues. The position offers the opportunity to be fully remote and works collaboratively with a remote team. 

Position Description

Performs complicated technical service functions via phone and email for SimpliPhi energy storage solutions business line. This includes acting as a liaison between internal departments and manufacturers, service centers, central distributors, field sales staff and customers in order to resolve complex requests, questions and concerns associated with company products/services.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Acts as subject matter expert in responding to and resolving a variety of product, service requests, questions and concerns of moderate complexity via telephone, e-mail, and other technologies.
  2. Investigates and troubleshoots matters concerning repairs or procedures to correct problems associated with electrical or mechanical systems.
  3. Conducts research and investigations to determine validity of warranty claims and may make warranty policy adjustments as required.
  4. Communicates with both internal and external partners in order to resolve inquiries.
  5. Assists with locating various product parts in critical situations that require expedient resolution.
  6. Provides guidance and training to internal customer service representatives and other staff.
  7. Maintains and continuously improves knowledge of principles, practices and procedures regarding company products and equipment for unique situations that require new and creative solutions.
  8. Enters customer contact details into Customer Relationship Management software.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a troubleshooting and repair capacity
  • Customer or technical support experience
  • Battery, inverter, and/or solar powered product service industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience with ticketing software preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Ability to travel minimally, domestic travel several times per year
